Data Science Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Wilmington, Delaware or Charlotte, North Carolina

What you will do

• Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to diverse datasets and solve complex, unstructured business problems.
• Develop technical solutions that improve business decisions, customer experience, and shareholder returns.
• Evaluate non-traditional data sources to improve underwriting decisions and reduce customer interest costs.
• Analyze marketing campaign data to identify new populations that may benefit from financial products.
• Partner with operations teams to generate insights for branch staff and customer service.
• Share knowledge and collaborate with a close-knit, team-oriented data science group.

Requirements

• Current postgraduate student in engineering, data science, statistics, biostatistics, physics, economics, operations research, or computer science, graduating in Winter 2026 or Spring 2027.
• Experience with open-source machine learning libraries in Python or R.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience working with diverse teams to deliver complex projects.
• Creative problem-solving ability and an innovative approach to data-driven challenges.
