TL;DR
Data Governance & Data Quality Manager (Data Governance/Metadata): Leading Sony Europe’s governance capability to establish frameworks, ownership models, quality controls, metadata standards and trusted data products with an accent on data ownership, stewardship, lineage and measurable data quality. Focus on resolving ownership gaps, governing remediation and root-cause resolution, driving adoption of Collibra or comparable platforms, and developing a distributed team across multiple countries.
Location: Budapest office; the role is based onsite in Budapest.

What you will do
- Lead and continuously improve the data governance framework, operating model, standards, processes and decision rights.
- Establish accountability across Data Owners, Data Stewards, Data Custodians and Data Consumers, resolving ownership gaps and conflicting definitions.
- Manage the data quality framework, including critical data elements, business-owned rules, thresholds, controls, scorecards and issue management.
- Drive remediation governance and root-cause resolution with business and technology teams through issue closure.
- Increase adoption of business glossaries, metadata standards, cataloguing, lineage and trusted data products.
- Own the functional roadmap and adoption of governance and data quality tools, and lead a collaborative team across multiple countries.
Requirements
- Experience in data governance, data management, data quality or metadata management within a large or complex organisation.
- Practical knowledge of data ownership, stewardship, business glossaries, metadata, lineage and data quality management.
- Experience introducing or improving governance frameworks, data quality controls, reporting or issue-management processes.
- Strong ability to build relationships and explain governance topics to business and technology stakeholders.
- People leadership experience with an inclusive and collaborative approach.
- Experience with Collibra or a comparable governance, metadata or data quality platform; a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with SAP or Microsoft Dynamics, data lakes or lakehouses, Databricks, Power BI or similar environments.
