What you will do

• Accession specimens and assist pathologists or physician assistants with grossing.
• Load, change, clean, and troubleshoot histology processors.
• Perform decalcification, embedding, microtomy, coverslipping, and routine H&E staining.
• Perform IHC testing when qualified and monitor quality control within established limits.
• Maintain grossing stations, supplies, glassware, tissue disposal, and laboratory cleanliness.
• Follow laboratory policies and comply with ISO, OSHA, CAP, safety, and HIPAA requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma and at least 2 years of related experience.
• Fluent English reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
• Visual acuity, manual dexterity, and the ability to perform precise laboratory work.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and stoop, with lifting up to 20 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around infectious materials, bloodborne pathogens, and toxic substances.
