Senior Technologist (Clinical Laboratory)

What you will do

• Perform clinical laboratory tests according to prescribed procedures and calculate test results.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment.
• Prepare and evaluate reagents, media, calibrators, and analytical quality controls.
• Lead validation activities for new assays and processes and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Use laboratory information systems to report patient results accurately and support specimen investigations.
• Analyze data for scientific publications and presentations, improve processes, interact with inspectors, and train new employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology, from an accredited institution.
• 4.5 years of relevant clinical laboratory testing experience under NYSDOH and CLIA requirements.
• State license to perform clinical laboratory testing if required by the state where the laboratory is located.
• Knowledge of medical technology, chemistry, biology, bacteriology, laboratory equipment, and testing methods.
• Ability to analyze data, communicate effectively, follow procedures, and maintain accurate test records.
• Ability to comply with laboratory safety, exposure-control, quality-management, documentation, and recordkeeping requirements.
