Software Engineer II (Networking)

Location: United States; hybrid work with an average of 2 days per week from an HPE office

Salary: USD 105,500–213,500 annual base salary in California; variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Design and implement software enhancements for operating systems, compilers, networking, databases, utilities, and related subsystems.
• Analyze requirements and perform coding, testing, and software integration according to project guidelines.
• Develop and execute test plans, document results, debug code, and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver reliable and cost-effective software solutions.
• Communicate design status, progress, and technical issues to project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++ programming and software systems design tools.
• Experience designing software systems for multiple platform types.
• Knowledge of software systems testing methodologies, test plan execution, and debugging.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedded operating systems and Linux driver architecture.
• Networking and low-level software development experience.
