Staff Platform Development Engineer (FinTech)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain highly available infrastructure across on-premises systems, AWS hybrid cloud environments, and co-location data centers.
• Lead infrastructure-as-code and platform automation using Terraform, Ansible, Salt, and related tooling.
• Own Kubernetes cluster operations, workload scheduling, resource governance, and service mesh configuration.
• Architect CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation while driving DevOps practices across the software development lifecycle.
• Build observability systems with metrics, centralized logging, and distributed tracing; define and improve platform reliability objectives.
• Support financial data connectivity, incident escalation, root cause analysis, capacity planning, performance engineering, compliance, and infrastructure cost optimization.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, Linux administration, or DevOps/SRE, including at least 3 years in financial services or FinTech.
• Hands-on expertise with RHEL and Debian-based Linux distributions, Kubernetes, Helm, RBAC, networking, and storage.
• Experience designing infrastructure automation frameworks with Ansible, Salt, Terraform, or equivalent IaC tools.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms, observability stacks, Java and JVM internals, relational and time-series databases, and Python or Bash scripting.
• Knowledge of FIX, SWIFT, SFTP/FTPS, market data feeds, custodian integrations, TCP/IP, DNS, TLS/PKI, load balancing, VPN/MPLS, and firewalls.
• Experience with SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or equivalent compliance frameworks, including audit evidence, access control, and change management.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, FinOps, virtualization, and private cloud platforms such as VMware vSphere or Proxmox.
• Exposure to SEC, FINRA, MiFID II, investment management, portfolio accounting, or wealth management infrastructure.
• Experience with Vault, CyberArk, certificate lifecycle tooling, or internal PKI.
• RHCA, RHCE, CKA, CKAD, or equivalent certifications.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
