TL;DR
MedTech Device Field Service Technician (MedTech): Installing and commissioning automated medication dispensing systems in healthcare facilities with an accent on hardware assembly, electrical systems, pneumatic devices, RFID readers, sensors, and structured cabling. Focus on reviewing schematics, configuring equipment, testing installations, supporting customer projects, and travelling weekly to healthcare sites.

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; requires weekly local, regional, and national travel and residence within 30 miles of a major airport.

Compensation: Per-diem, assignment-based work with paid travel time and mileage.

What you will do

  • Organize, test, assemble, install, and configure automated medication dispensing systems.
  • Review schematics, drawings, documentation, and logistics for installation activities.
  • Build and install conveyors, automated dispensers, pneumatic devices, RFID readers, sensors, and related equipment.
  • Commission electronic and electrical systems and install structured cabling.
  • Perform product testing, record installation data, and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with support staff, design engineers, project managers, healthcare personnel, and customers to manage timelines and equipment workflows.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and at least one year of related electronic hardware experience.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools, read schematics, assemble components, and work with basic software and Microsoft operating systems.
  • Professional communication skills and ability to work with engineers, project managers, and healthcare personnel.
  • Active, unrestricted driver’s license, personal vehicle, and willingness to use it for work assignments.
  • Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally every week and remain within 30 miles of a major airport.
  • Ability to complete hospital vendor credentialing and meet required vaccination and immunization requirements.

Nice to have

  • Military or electronics-related MOS experience.
  • Ability to work independently in customer settings with minimal supervision.

  • Part-time, per-diem, assignment-based schedule with typical work weeks of 28–32 hours plus travel time.
  • Open Monday–Friday availability is required.
