Nutrition Education Associate

Location: San Antonio, Texas, with daily travel to multiple work sites in Bexar County and occasional training travel outside the county

Salary: $18.71/hour

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service delivers the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program to families and youth with limited resources across Texas.

What you will do

• Teach nutrition, food resource management, food safety, and physical activity to adults and youth in person and virtually.
• Recruit participants who meet program guidelines.
• Use approved, research-based curricula and conduct food demonstrations.
• Collect and track program data, maintain activity logs, and complete reports.
• Assist with mentoring and training Nutrition Education Assistants when needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least six months of related experience working with youth and/or adults.
• Experience teaching groups and working with low-resource audiences.
• Knowledge or teaching experience in nutrition, food safety, food resource management, and physical activity.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams.
• Reliable transportation is required; a valid driver’s license and current liability insurance are preferred.

Nice to have

• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
• Familiarity with the local community.
