What you will do
- Oversee the Office of Clinical Experiences, including its budget, faculty, staff, applicants, and eligibility processes.
- Manage clinical placements, field-based experiences, clinical teaching, and enhanced yearlong teacher residency initiatives with school district partners.
- Coordinate teacher certification compliance, accreditation activities, mock audits, assessment days, documentation, and state and national reporting.
- Design and deliver training and orientation for host and cooperating teachers, and organize OCE-related events and professional development.
- Maintain the Jags Educator Portal, website, communication systems, alumni records, reports, newsletters, and other OCE materials.
- Collaborate with college leaders, certification and compliance officers, faculty, staff, and district administrators while addressing student complaints, placement issues, Fitness to Teach matters, and growth plans.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree or higher in a related field.
- Ten years of related management experience.
- Knowledge of teacher certification requirements, higher education accreditation processes, shared governance, and academic freedom.
- Ability to manage complex budgets, supervise personnel, multitask, and collaborate with campus and external stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Employment is contingent on credential verification and completion of a criminal history investigation.
Nice to have
- Masterβs or terminal degree in education or a related field.
- At least five years of teaching experience in an EC-12 public school setting.
- Experience leading teacher professional development, higher education teaching, teaching and learning excellence initiatives, or administrative work involving budget management and personnel supervision.
- Familiarity with TAC, TEA, or CAEP standards.
