Facilities Coordinator I (Poultry Science)

Location: College Station, Texas, United States; onsite work with occasional evening and weekend duties based on farm operations.

Research Compliance Office at the Texas A&M University System, supporting Texas A&M AgriLife Research and the Department of Poultry Science.

What you will do

• Assist with managing facilities and animals used in research, teaching, and extension activities.
• Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of employee safety programs and guidelines.
• Monitor animal welfare and oversee feed mill operations.
• Maintain and repair equipment and poultry rearing facilities.
• Manage inventory and supervise use of the on-site workshop.
• Communicate operational status with the Research Service Farm Manager and supervise farm and student workers as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, work cooperatively, respond promptly to on-site emergency calls, and exert heavy force.
• Employment is contingent on credential verification and completion of a criminal history investigation.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Poultry Science.
• Experience in poultry husbandry and feed mill operation.
