TL;DR
Actuarial Analyst (Actuarial Development Program) - December 2026 Grads/May 2027 Grads (Actuarial Science/Insurance): Performing actuarial research, experience studies, statistical analyses, modeling, and audits with an accent on pricing, reserving, risk analysis, and product development. Focus on compiling and validating actuarial data, running pricing and asset/liability models, communicating analytical findings, and progressing through SOA exams toward the FSA designation.

Location: Hybrid in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the office, Monday and Friday work from home.

Work authorization: Applicants must already be legally authorized to work in the United States without immigration sponsorship. This role is not eligible for immigration-related employment authorization sponsorship.

What you will do

  • Perform actuarial research, experience studies, statistical analyses, calculations, modeling, and audits.
  • Compile, categorize, document, and verify data for actuarial studies, projects, and reports.
  • Prepare statistics, financial statements, premiums, reserves, benefits, and other actuarial information.
  • Input data and run pricing, reserving, and asset/liability models.
  • Analyze premium and loss data, evaluate results for reasonability, and communicate observations to relevant teams.
  • Rotate through the business while developing actuarial techniques, product knowledge, and understanding of actuarial methodology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field.
  • Previous internship in actuarial science or a related field.
  • At least one completed actuarial exam and active participation in the Actuarial Student Program with continued exams toward the FSA designation.
  • Ability to interpret complex analytical data and communicate advanced mathematical and analytical concepts.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints on individual and team objectives.

  • Programming skills.
