2027 Early Careers: Summer Intern, Actuarial – United States, Multiple Locations

Location: NY-New York; in-person internship requiring office attendance at least four days per week. The program runs from June 7 through August 6, 2027.

Hourly pay range for applicants in Colorado, Jersey City, and New York City: $28.64–$34.47.

What you will do

• Analyze data and apply actuarial techniques to quantify risk, price insurance products, and support loss reserving.
• Assist with actuarial analyses, models, forecasts, and reports supporting business and financial decisions.
• Collaborate with actuaries and teams across Finance, Claims, Operations, Risk Management, and other business areas.
• Monitor trends and evaluate financial and insurance data to identify insights and support recommendations.
• Communicate actuarial findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Build technical and business expertise while progressing through the Actuarial Development Program and actuarial examinations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree expected no later than June 2028; an unofficial transcript is required with the application.
• Availability for the complete nine-week summer internship from June 7 through August 6, 2027.
• Ability to work in the office at least four days per week.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to collaborate, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice to have

• Major in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Completed or progressing toward actuarial examinations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and exposure to Python, R, SQL, or similar analytical tools.
• Interest in pursuing an actuarial career and professional actuarial credentials.
• Outstanding academic, extracurricular, or previous work achievements.
