Account Manager (Electrical Distribution)

Location: Alpena, Michigan, United States

Employee-owned distributor serving the electrical, automation, pipe, valve, fitting, steam, lighting, industrial controls, and instrumentation industries through eight divisions and more than 75 locations.

What you will do

• Manage an established account base, territory strategy, customer interactions, sales calls, and account objectives.
• Present product and service value propositions, conduct business reviews, identify customer needs, and close sales.
• Maintain CRM account, contact, opportunity pipeline, sales report, call, and expense information.
• Develop proposals, coordinate follow-up, support change orders, and work with technical, management, and project teams to deliver customer solutions.
• Build customer relationships through presentations, training events, trade shows, meetings, and value-added service.
• Achieve sales, margin, revenue, and profit goals while helping resolve project, warranty, repair, delivery, and account issues.

Requirements

• Previous sales experience and a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.
• Business acumen with problem-solving, critical-thinking, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation, influencing, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in office, warehouse, and fabrication environments; stand, walk, climb stairs, and operate a vehicle.

Nice to have

• Three years of electrical distribution experience.
• Five years of sales experience with commercial electrical businesses or electrical contractors.
• Bachelor’s degree.
