Capital Project Manager (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Manage multiple capital projects typically ranging from $200K to $8M.
• Evaluate non-capital alternatives and establish project objectives through business objective letters or charters.
• Acquire and release project resources while directing roles, responsibilities, communication, and expectations across integrated project teams.
• Manage project expenditures, schedules, total investment, project economics, and management-of-change procedures.
• Lead gatekeeping reviews, validate project deliverables, and interface with the Project Leadership Team and Business Unit Steering Team.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, design contractors, design-build providers, suppliers, and geographically dispersed stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline; chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in manufacturing, construction, or engineering design.
• Experience managing third-party contractors or suppliers and serving as a project team leader or project manager.
• Understanding of capital project execution from FEL-1 through checkout and startup, including project control techniques and funding practices.
• Knowledge of manufacturing technology and processes, plant operations, maintenance strategies, and relevant project execution disciplines.
• Strong leadership, prioritization, communication, conflict-resolution, and multitasking skills.

Nice to have

• Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.
• Willingness to travel for design reviews, vendor meetings, shop visits, site tours, contractor selection, and bid meetings.
