Director of Software Engineering (iGaming)

What you will do

• Define and execute the technical vision for modernising legacy applications.
• Design and implement a scalable, cloud-native microservices platform on AWS.
• Lead cloud migration, optimisation, cost management, and DevOps practices including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability.
• Build, lead, and mentor high-performing engineering teams through significant technical change.
• Architect secure, compliant, high-performance systems and ensure non-functional requirements are met.
• Partner with product, business, legal, risk, and compliance stakeholders.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Hands-on expertise in Java and large-scale, high-performance applications.
• Experience modernising legacy applications in regulated environments.
• Experience designing and deploying AWS-based microservices platforms.
• Strong DevOps background with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Experience with observability, performance tuning, security, compliance, and team development.

Nice to have

• iGaming experience, including online casinos, sports betting, or fintech for gaming.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures such as Kafka and RabbitMQ, plus serverless technologies.
• Experience with security-hardened systems and compliance audits.
