Director Principal Architect (AI)

Location: Reading, United Kingdom, or Barcelona, Spain. Hybrid work with up to 2 days per week from home; up to 30 days per year may be worked from any location in the world.

What you will do

• Define and lead enterprise architecture strategy across AI, data platforms, intelligent systems, products, solutions, and customer architecture.
• Establish AI-enabled architecture visions, multi-year roadmaps, reference models, standards, and reusable design patterns.
• Lead product solution architecture across portfolios, partnering with Product, Engineering, and Data teams from concept through delivery.
• Define AI governance, responsible AI practices, security controls, compliance guardrails, and enterprise risk alignment.
• Shape enterprise data architecture and AI platform strategy, including data pipelines, MLOps, model lifecycle management, and cloud-native systems.
• Lead the architecture community and develop senior architects through people management, coaching, talent planning, succession planning, and capability building.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in enterprise architecture and governance.
• Strong experience with AI/ML architectures, data ecosystems, data management, and analytics.
• Experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems.
• Experience leading solution, product, and customer architecture at enterprise scale.
• Ability to advise executive leadership and influence product and corporate strategy through architecture and AI innovation.
