Energy Support Social Worker

Location: On-site in the Coventry office, UK, with frequent travel to different locations. Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per year.

What you will do

• Assess customers with diverse and complex needs, create support plans, and identify safeguarding concerns.
• Evaluate customers’ ability to pay and recommend appropriate support packages.
• Signpost customers to relevant sources of help and make referrals to local authorities and other agencies.
• Conduct follow-ups to guide individual cases through to resolution.
• Keep up to date with social care best practices and regulatory guidance.
• Provide ongoing support to energy specialists handling challenging customer conversations.

Requirements

• Social Work degree and current registration with Social Work England.
• ASYE qualification and ideally at least five years of post-qualifying social work experience or equivalent sector experience.
• Experience in adult social care, ideally including work in a mental health team.
• Ability to handle sensitive customer situations with initiative, curiosity, and empathy.
• Ability to build rapport and trust with colleagues and provide tailored support.
• Driver with access to a car or willingness to travel occasionally to different locations.

Nice to have

• Practice Educator qualification.
• Experience as an Approved Mental Health Practitioner.
