Test Pilot (Combat Aircraft)

Location: Getafe Area, Madrid, Spain; hybrid working is available when possible, with on-site flight-test activities and work at Airbus and customer facilities worldwide.

What you will do

• Plan, execute, and report test flights supporting aircraft development, certification, qualification, validation, verification, and acceptance.
• Perform Test Pilot activities at the Airbus Test Centre and customer facilities.
• Support test, production, delivery, and training activities for the EF-2000 Typhoon, A400M, Military Air Systems, and derivative aircraft.
• Contribute to in-flight and simulator activities across hirify.global programmes.
• Support aircraft and systems design and development, including FCAS and UAV programmes.
• Provide Test Pilot expertise to programme, customer, operational, and commercial activities.

Requirements

• More than 2,500 flight hours, including at least 1,500 hours in combat aircraft.
• At least 5 years of Test Pilot experience in Development Test, Certification and Qualification, and Validation and Verification activities.
• At least 5 years of Flight Test Operations management experience.
• Current or previous EF-2000 Typhoon qualification and air-to-air refuelling experience as tanker and/or receiver.
• Valid EASA Category 1 or Category 2 Test Pilot rating, or accepted USAF TPS or USNTPS qualification; EASA CPL/ATPL(A), ME, IR, UPRT, and Class 1 Medical Certificate are required.
• Advanced English at ICAO Level 5 or above, native-level Spanish, NATO SECRET Security Clearance, and Spanish National Security Clearance for SIRTAP and FCAS are required.

Nice to have

• Engineering or Master’s degree.
• Flight Test Instructor qualification and experience.
• Airbus Type Rating, UAV qualification or experience, and MCC qualification.
