Application Engineer in Personal Safety Division (Personal Safety)

Location: Christchurch or North Shore, New Zealand. The role involves customer visits, workplace assessments, field trials, and technical support across New Zealand.

What you will do

• Provide customer-facing application engineering and technical support across the Personal Safety Division portfolio, including respiratory, hearing, eye, head and face, fall, welding, communications, and protective apparel products.
• Conduct customer visits, workplace assessments, application evaluations, product demonstrations, field trials, and performance evaluations.
• Recommend suitable products and technical solutions based on workplace hazards, customer requirements, and application challenges.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, distributors, and channel partners on strategic opportunities, account conversions, new applications, and portfolio growth.
• Support new product introductions, commercialization, product transitions, technical complaint investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Deliver customer, distributor, and internal training, technical seminars, and application workshops while supporting standards, certification, and compliance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant experience in application engineering, technical service, industrial safety, PPE, or a related technical field.
• Experience in customer-facing technical roles and working with distributors or channel partners.
• Experience or exposure to product evaluations, new product introductions, technical training, and complaint resolution.
• Strong technical problem-solving, communication, presentation, project management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently across a geographically diverse customer base and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Manufacturing.
