Event Technician

Location: Auckland, New Zealand; based across hirify.global campuses

Salary: NZD 60,000–70,000 per year, negotiable based on skills and experience; permanent full-time, 37.5 hours per week.

What you will do

• Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and pack down audio-visual and event production equipment.
• Provide technical support for live events, webinars, hybrid events, live streams, and video content.
• Coordinate event logistics, including furniture, equipment, resources, bookings, schedules, and enquiries.
• Maintain service quality for internal clients across faculties, departments, and campuses.
• Complete risk assessments and maintain health and safety compliance.
• Support team operations by supervising casual staff and maintaining organised storage areas.

Requirements

• Qualification in audio-visual production, lighting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of audio-visual support experience for events and functions.
• Demonstrated experience operating audio-visual and event production equipment.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise work effectively.
• High digital capability, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Full driver’s licence, physical capability for manual setup and pack down, and willingness to work evenings and weekends.
