Legal Counsel, Privacy

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid work with attendance at the Berlin campus 2 days per week

What you will do

• Provide risk-based privacy advice on products, initiatives, and operational changes.
• Advise on employee data protection, works council co-determination, and compliant employee-data processes.
• Support rider privacy compliance, including algorithmic management under the EU Platform Work Directive and automated decision-making under Article 22 GDPR.
• Perform and support data protection impact assessments for employment and platform processes.
• Develop and maintain global privacy policies, statements, and internal procedures.
• Support regulatory investigations and contribute to AI governance frameworks and compliance with emerging AI regulations.

Requirements

• Law degree and at least 3 years of experience in privacy.
• Experience with employee data protection and/or algorithmic management in platform work.
• Excellent English language skills required.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills across cultures and functions.
• Ability to define compliance strategies in novel or evolving legal frameworks and take ownership of issues end to end.

Nice to have

• German, Polish, or Spanish language skills.
• Experience advising technology companies and data-driven businesses across multiple jurisdictions.
• EU privacy certification such as IAPP CIPP/E, CIPM, or TÜV DPO.
