Financial Accountant (Financial Services)

What you will do

• Prepare financial, regulatory, statistical, and month-end reporting for multiple group entities.
• Manage trading profit and loss and balance sheet reporting for a trading entity.
• Prepare audit schedules, statutory financial statements, accounting policy memos, and responses to external audit queries.
• Perform fair value and financial instrument accounting under IFRS 9 and IFRS 13, including valuation inputs and Level 1/2/3 classification.
• Prepare intercompany journals, management fee recharges, and reconciliations across group entities.
• Improve financial close processes, automate manual reconciliations, and contribute to accounting systems projects.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with ACCA, CIMA, or ACA certification.
• At least two years of experience in an accounts production environment.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access skills, with the ability to learn new IT packages.
• Experience preparing audit schedules and working directly with external auditors.
• Familiarity with financial instrument pricing and fair value hierarchy concepts under IFRS 13.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to manage large volumes of data and meet deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience in asset and wealth management, capital markets, or financial services audit.
• Big Four financial services audit training background.
