Senior Technical Consultant

Location: Remote for candidates located in the United States or Canada; listed locations include Bellevue, Washington; Chicago, Illinois; New York, New York; San Francisco, California; and Toronto, Ontario. The role requires 25% travel to customer sites and includes in-person onboarding.

Salary: $176,000–$242,000 USD annual OTE for selected U.S. locations; additional ranges listed are $157,000–$215,600 USD and $157,900–$207,500 CAD.

What you will do

• Lead multiple concurrent post-sales customer deployment and implementation projects.
• Gather, analyze, and document requirements, then design, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot Okta solutions.
• Apply identity federation, access control, cloud architecture, and enterprise integration technologies.
• Manage project scope, schedules, status, documentation, quality controls, and customer expectations.
• Train customers, mentor less experienced colleagues, and coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Support, Product Management, and Customer Success.
• Improve delivery methods, develop new offerings, and contribute customer feedback to product development.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a technical consultant delivering solutions to external customers.
• Software development experience with Java, Ruby, .NET, PHP, REST/JSON, or similar technologies.
• Experience with JavaScript and a major JavaScript MVC framework such as Backbone, Angular, Ember, or React.
• Knowledge of cloud architectures, complex enterprise on-premise environments, identity lifecycle management, and SaaS deployments.
• Ability to manage multiple customer engagements, work hands-on, communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, and handle issue triage and crisis management.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and implementing security and identity management solutions.
• Knowledge of SAML 2.0, WS-Federation, OAuth, OpenID Connect, AD, LDAP, or API management platforms such as Mulesoft, Axway, or Apigee.
• Experience with AI tools such as Gemini, Claude, or ChatGPT.
