SQLServer Database Administrator (Microsoft Azure)

Location: Hybrid, two days per week in Parque das Nações, Lisbon; candidates must be based in Portugal and hold Portuguese or EU citizenship or a valid work permit.

What you will do

• Administer, configure, and support Microsoft SQL Server in production environments.
• Operate Always On Availability Groups and Failover Cluster Instances.
• Manage Azure SQL and related Azure services, including Azure DevOps, Pipelines, Monitor, Event Hub, and Alerts.
• Handle production incidents, lead resolution independently, and provide root cause analysis.
• Perform execution plan analysis, query tuning, and performance optimization using T-SQL and PowerShell.
• Maintain audit-quality documentation across the full database administration lifecycle.

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of hands-on Microsoft SQL Server experience in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server installation and configuration, Always On Availability Groups, and FCI operations.
• Deep expertise with Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, Azure Monitor, Azure Event Hub, and Azure Alerts.
• Strong T-SQL and PowerShell skills, with an understanding of SQL and PostgreSQL; familiarity with Jira and DBeaver.
• Fluent English at C1 level and availability for the hybrid schedule in Lisbon are required.
