Senior Middleware Operations Engineer (Kafka, Qlik, Cloudera)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid work with up to 3 remote days per week. Candidates must have an existing legal right to work in Europe.

What you will do

• Support Kafka and Qlik Replicate run activities, ensuring high availability and operational stability.
• Troubleshoot incidents and drive resolution within established SLAs.
• Execute standard changes, service requests, and operational documentation updates.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, network, and application teams to maintain platform performance.
• Manage support activities independently, escalate risks, and recommend technical optimizations.
• Develop operational procedures and strengthen Kafka, Qlik, and Cloudera platform expertise.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience supporting middleware platforms in production or other critical environments.
• Proven Kafka administration or operations support experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of Qlik Replicate or similar CDC and replication solutions.
• Good understanding of Linux administration, log analysis, monitoring tools, and incident management.
• Ability to work independently within a support team and experience with regulated or banking environments.
• Fluent English and an existing legal right to work in Europe are required.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Cloudera environments.
• Knowledge of database replication concepts.
