Application Support Engineer (Financial Services): Supporting and developing application operations for business investment banking and financial services with an accent on systems administration, industrial scheduling, databases, and infrastructure monitoring. Focus on maintaining Linux and Windows environments, managing application servers and container-based infrastructure, and solving complex networking, security, backup, and monitoring challenges.

Location: Porto, Portugal — Hybrid

Company

Work on a business investment banking and financial services project supported by a technological hub in Portugal.

What you will do

Support application operations and related business processes in the financial services environment.
Administer Linux and Windows systems and maintain application infrastructure.
Manage industrial scheduling with BMC/Control-M or comparable scheduling tools.
Work with application servers, databases, scripting, and SQL-based tasks.
Monitor infrastructure, manage backups, and support container-based infrastructure and networking.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in similar application support or systems administration roles.
Knowledge of Linux and Windows environments, systems administration, scripting with Shell, Python, or PowerShell, and SQL.
Experience with BMC/Control-M or another industrial scheduler.
Experience with JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, or IIS and with Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, or MySQL databases.
Knowledge of infrastructure backup and monitoring tools, LDAP, firewalls, reverse proxies, Active Directory, Kerberos, containers, and networking.
Fluent English is required.
