Intern (m/w/d): Support for Contamination Modelling (Aerospace Software)

What you will do

• Learn the openContam modular simulation framework and its modelling capabilities.
• Develop and implement physical models and software features for spacecraft contamination analysis.
• Create validation test cases and benchmarking campaigns.
• Compare simulation results with analytical models, experimental data, and reference cases.
• Improve software architecture, user experience, documentation, and contamination analysis workflows.
• Contribute to verification and validation reports.

Requirements

• Studies or previous experience in aerospace engineering, physics, or numerical simulation.
• Mandatory programming experience in Python and/or C++.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, independent working, and communication skills.
• High proficiency in English, spoken and written, as the working language.
• Minimum internship duration of 5 months.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ray tracing methods.
• Experience with GUI programming and multithreading.
