Engineering Manager, Performance & Resilience (Auth0)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid

Annual salary: CAD 146,000–201,300, plus equity where applicable, bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead performance and resilience improvements for Auth0 and collaborate with architects, platform engineers, product engineers, security, and operations.
• Own the evolution of the load-testing framework, improving modularity, reusability, scalability, and developer experience.
• Define test dataset generation strategies using synthetic data, anonymized production data, and realistic traffic distributions.
• Use monitoring and observability tools to identify, resolve, or escalate service performance issues.
• Develop backend frameworks and tools for organization-wide use and participate in incident root-cause analysis.
• Manage a global team through hiring, coaching, career development, prioritization, and blocker removal.

Requirements

• Experience managing a globally diverse engineering team and handling stakeholder alignment, prioritization, and changing requirements.
• Experience designing or significantly improving load-testing frameworks such as k6, Gatling, or Locust, including test data management and CI/CD integration.
• Hands-on experience with synthetic data generation, data masking or anonymization, APM, observability, and distributed-systems performance analysis.
• Software architecture experience across microservices, cloud infrastructure, SQL and NoSQL datastores, key-value stores, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Solid knowledge of the JavaScript ecosystem, including Node.js and/or TypeScript, plus experience with AWS or other cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with chaos engineering tooling such as Chaos Toolkit, Gremlin, or AWS Fault Injection Service.
