Vice President, Engineering - Authentication (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in Bellevue, Washington; Chicago, Illinois; or San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $310,000–$426,800 USD annual base salary

What you will do

• Lead a large, globally distributed engineering organization for the Authentication product unit.
• Manage, mentor, and coach engineering managers leading distributed teams.
• Partner with Product, Design, Program Management, and senior Engineering leadership on product development and roadmap planning.
• Maintain security, performance, reliability, and availability SLAs for enterprise authentication services handling billions of authentications.
• Drive operational excellence, organizational scaling, team structure, investment planning, and continuous delivery.
• Build infrastructure for AI agents with machine-readable identity, scoped permissions, and natural-language policy enforcement.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience leading SaaS product engineering teams.
• 12+ years of full-stack software development experience across frontend, backend, data, and insights, with previous hands-on coding experience.
• 3+ years running or using large-scale cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Extensive experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies, monitoring, alerting, and operational tooling.
• Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure security, including security monitoring, key-based authentication, role-based authorization, audit logging, and patching.
• Experience leading reliable, flexible, and scalable backend, frontend, customization, and database services, with strong communication and people-leadership skills.
