Associate Satellite Controller (Satellite Operations)

Location: Onsite in Belrose, Sydney, Australia; 24/7 shift roster required

What you will do

• Monitor the health, safety, and performance of spacecraft under hirify.global control.
• Perform command and control activities for on-orbit spacecraft operations.
• Operate and maintain ground-based telemetry, tracking, and command hardware and systems.
• Respond to spacecraft anomalies, emergencies, and ground equipment or system failures.
• Work in a small satellite control team under the supervision of the Satellite Control Shift Leader.
• Complete training and work toward the hirify.global Satellite Controller Certification.

Requirements

• Australian citizenship is required for security clearance purposes.
• Australian Department of Defence (AGSVA) Security Clearance must be held or obtainable.
• Ability to work onsite on a 24/7 shift roster.
• Associate or Advanced Diploma, or equivalent tertiary qualification, in electrical, electronic, telecommunications, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to work with satellite systems, telemetry, tracking and command systems, communications technologies, antenna systems, RF, baseband, SCADA, and real-time computer systems.
• Analytical, problem-solving, multitasking, and system-level fault diagnosis skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in telecommunications, satellite communications, aerospace, or defence capabilities.
• Experience working in complex real-time operational environments.
