High Voltage Site Engineer

Location: Western Sydney, Australia; willingness to travel to project sites is required.

What you will do

• Lead the safe on-site delivery of high-voltage infrastructure across new and existing data centre sites.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants, network service providers, and internal teams through construction, testing, energisation, commissioning, and handover.
• Oversee installation and inspection of switchgear, transformers, protection relays, SCADA, earthing, cabling, and DC systems.
• Review construction documentation, method statements, inspection and test plans, vendor documents, and quality records.
• Resolve site queries, constructability issues, design discrepancies, defects, non-conformances, and punch-list items.
• Complete technical handover documentation, including as-built drawings, test records, manuals, asset information, and training materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least five years of experience in HV construction, site engineering, or project delivery, preferably in data centres, critical infrastructure, utilities, or large-scale industrial projects.
• Practical knowledge of HV equipment and installations, including switchgear, transformers, protection systems, SCADA, earthing, cabling, and auxiliary DC systems.
• Working knowledge of Australian electrical standards, network service provider requirements, and HV safe systems of work.
• Experience supervising contractors, coordinating multiple work fronts, managing RFIs and quality issues, and working in live construction environments.
• Strong commitment to electrical safety, permit-to-work controls, risk management, and safe site execution.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, PowerFactory, ETAP, or similar engineering and document-control applications.
• Experience in hyperscale data centres, critical infrastructure, utilities, or large-scale industrial projects.
