Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration

Location: Onsite at 3439 William St, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, United States; work may include multiple facilities or distant locations within an assigned region.

Hourly wage: $29.00–$58.00, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Install, configure, calibrate, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC, refrigeration, building pneumatic, control panel, and energy management systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigerant, cold-chain, indoor-air-quality, and operational issues across commercial and industrial systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, refrigerant recovery, documentation, inventory tracking, warranty claims, work orders, and expense reporting.
• Respond to service calls and business-critical incidents during assigned on-call rotations, coordinating external providers when needed.
• Lead field teams and mentor technicians and apprentices on technical procedures, service quality, and safety practices.
• Drive and maintain a company vehicle, coordinate vehicle servicing, and work or train at multiple facilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Either a vocational or technical HVAC/R certification plus 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of relevant mechanical maintenance, construction, HVAC/R, or building-controls experience.
• EPA Type I and Type II or Universal certification for refrigerant handling is required.
• HVAC/R or mechanical journeyman credentials where required.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and a qualifying motor vehicle record are required.
• Ability to operate commercial motor vehicles while meeting requirements for traffic violations, accidents, and driving history.
• Ability to use heavy machinery and comply with OSHA, EPA 608, and federal, state, and local HVAC/R regulations.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the role is located.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and standard office software.
