Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration

Location: Onsite at 2050 N Mall Dr, Alexandria, Louisiana, United States

Hourly wage: $29.00–$58.00 per hour, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Install, configure, calibrate, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, ductwork, and control panels.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in HVAC/R equipment, including walk-in refrigeration units.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs to optimize system performance and reduce downtime.
• Maintain compliance with building codes, OSHA standards, EPA refrigerant-handling protocols, and federal, state, and local regulations.
• Lead and mentor field teams, provide technical guidance, and promote safe work practices.
• Manage service calls, documentation, external providers, and company vehicle operations across multiple locations.

Requirements

• Either a vocational or technical HVAC/R certification plus 2 years of relevant mechanical maintenance or construction experience, or 4 years of relevant experience.
• Current EPA Type I and Type II or Universal certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC-R or mechanical journeyman qualification where required.
• Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial or industrial HVAC/R systems, interpreting schematics and building codes, and performing preventive maintenance.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report; specific commercial driving standards apply.
• Ability to lead field teams, communicate technical issues clearly, and mentor technicians.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and office software.
