Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance (Facilities Maintenance)

Location: Onsite in Kansas City, Missouri, United States

Hourly wage: $26.00–$51.00 per hour, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, cleaning, and repairs for facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
• Document wear, repair needs, replacement requirements, work orders, and maintenance activities.
• Manage maintenance schedules and coordinate contractor compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Operate and maintain heavy machinery and company vehicles in accordance with safety procedures and regulations.
• Order parts, track purchases, submit warranty claims, and compare prices for cost efficiency.
• Identify hazards, correct deficiencies, and collaborate with teams on continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Vocational or technical certification plus 2 years of experience, or 4 years of experience, in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area.
• Ability to operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery and powered equipment safely.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no recent disqualifying DUI, DWI, OUI, serious traffic violations, or preventable accidents.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
• Effective communication, teamwork, accurate documentation, integrity, and commitment to safety and company policies.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year vocational or technical trade program.
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.
• Related trade license in the city or state where the job is located.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
