Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite at a Walmart supercenter

Hourly wage: $39.00–$77.00 per hour, plus possible premiums and bonus incentive.

Walmart operates local retail stores and facility services supporting supermarket refrigeration and HVAC equipment.

What you will do

• Maintain and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment and facility assets.
• Receive repair work orders, support store associates, and document completed activities in the work order management system.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, and test equipment and fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete required safety training and follow OSHA and EPA requirements, Walmart safety policies, and environmental guidelines.
• Work at heights, move up and down ladders, and lift up to 75 pounds.

Requirements

• Experience in HVAC and grocery rack refrigeration; the listed qualification options require 3 years of experience, or 6 years with an AAS in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• Large-scale rack refrigeration experience and EPA Type I and Type II or Universal certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC-R or Mechanical Journeyman qualification where required.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report, with specified commercial driving record requirements.
• At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent; additional experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area may be required.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year technical or vocational HVAC/R program or associate degree in air conditioning and refrigeration.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and office productivity software.
• Experience with Glycol and CO2 systems.
