Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration

Location: Gainesville, Georgia, United States; onsite facility and field work required

Hourly wage: $35.00–$70.00 per hour, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.

What you will do

• Oversee installation, commissioning, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems.
• Manage supermarket refrigeration equipment, including rack systems, walk-ins, reach-ins, ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics.
• Lead HVAC/R field teams, coordinate assignments and service calls, manage escalated issues, and support regional workloads.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, EPA refrigerant-handling protocols, environmental requirements, and applicable HVAC/R codes.
• Train and mentor technicians through hands-on instruction, skill evaluations, feedback, and development activities.
• Manage refrigerant levels, parts inventory, vendors, company vehicles, maintenance records, work orders, and on-call responses.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in HVAC or grocery rack refrigeration, or 6 years plus an Associate of Applied Science in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC-R or mechanical journeyman qualification where required.
• Additional experience in plumbing, electrical work, material handling equipment, a related area, or Walmart store operations.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle report, and compliant commercial driving record.
• Ability to work onsite in Gainesville, Georgia, and perform field, driving, heavy-machinery, and on-call duties.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year technical or vocational HVAC/R program or AAS in air conditioning and refrigeration.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and office productivity software.
• Experience with glycol and CO2 systems.
