Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration

Location: Onsite at the Walmart Supercenter in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, United States

Salary: $35.00–$70.00 per hour, plus possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour

What you will do

• Maintain and repair supermarket rack refrigeration and commercial HVAC equipment and facility assets.
• Receive and manage repair work orders, document completed work, and support stores and associates.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, and test equipment and fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete required safety training and follow OSHA, EPA, refrigeration, and HVAC safety procedures.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, use ladders, and work frequently at heights.

Requirements

• Experience in HVAC or grocery rack refrigeration; qualification paths include 3 years of experience, or 6 years plus an Associate of Applied Science in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• Type I and Type II, or Universal, EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC-R or mechanical journeyman qualification where required.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Acceptable commercial driving record, including no recent DUI, DWI, OUI, serious traffic violations, or specified preventable accidents and moving violations.
• At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year technical or vocational HVAC/R program or associate degree.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, Glycol systems, or CO2 systems.
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.
