Career Counselor

What you will do

• Manage a caseload of Job Corps participants and provide academic, career, social, and personal development counseling.
• Assess student progress, document counseling contacts, update records, and track projection data.
• Help students set short- and long-term goals, develop employability plans, and connect with education, training, mental health, and community services.
• Collaborate with departments, resident advisors, mental health consultants, review boards, and the Career Management Team.
• Co-facilitate social skills, employability skills, career success, orientation, and development sessions.
• Perform assigned administrative duties, including weekend Counselor on Duty rotations, leave and pass verification, and student reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 15 semester hours in social services-related instruction.
• At least one year of counseling or related experience.
• Experience working with a diverse population of youth.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to maintain a safe, respectful, and harassment-free environment for students and staff.
