Program Intern, Safety

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee, USA; full-time, in-person internship at the Knoxville headquarters

Internship dates: June 7–August 13, 2027

Operates a large network of travel centers, retail and fueling locations, and energy and logistics services across the United States and Canada.

What you will do

• Support the creation and enhancement of safety programs, procedures, and policies that reduce risk and promote safe operations.
• Gather and analyze inspection, audit, and operational data to identify trends and support safety initiatives.
• Research workplace hazards, observe operational practices, and help develop safety procedures and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Retail Operations, Energy Operations, and other stakeholders on continuous improvement efforts.
• Create PowerPoint presentations, one-page safety communications, and other materials for operational teams.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Excel, including data analysis, graphs, and basic formulas.
• Experience with PowerPoint and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication, collaboration, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and engage stakeholders.
