Safety Engineer Intern (Construction Safety)

Location: Dallas, with the assigned site location in Lubbock, Texas; 70%–80% of the time is spent at the field site and 20%–30% in the office.

What you will do

• Support the Safety Manager and Project Management Team in implementing project and site safety programs.
• Review subcontractor safety submittals and monitor subcontractor safety activities.
• Conduct and document site safety audits and inspections.
• Review safe work procedures with foremen and provide safety training and orientation to craft workers.
• Distribute updated safety information and implement changes to maintain a safe working environment.
• Communicate safety matters with project personnel, contractors, clients, and industry safety organizations.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, safety management, construction safety, or a related field.
• Within six months to two years of graduating with a four-year degree in a safety-related field.
• Able to work 40 hours per week for a two- to three-month term during the May–August summer internship.
• Must provide verification of authorization to work in the United States.
