Summer Internship – A320 Family Liaison Engineering (Aerospace): Supporting A320 Family aircraft production through real-time engineering assistance, non-conformity resolution, technical documentation, and collaboration across manufacturing, quality, and design teams with an accent on metallic and composite airframe structures. Focus on analyzing shop-floor technical issues, creating rework instructions and design query notes, and contributing to automation, data analytics, and digitalization projects that reduce recurring defects.

Location: Mobile Area, Alabama, United States; full-time onsite work is required. Relocation to Mobile, AL is required for the internship duration.

What you will do

  • Support engineers in reviewing shop-floor non-conformities, concessions, and technical queries involving primary and secondary metallic and composite airframe structures.
  • Organize, update, and draft basic design datasets, rework instructions, and Design Query Notes under supervision.
  • Participate in engineering innovation projects involving automation, data analytics, and digitalization to reduce recurring industrial defects.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Design engineering teams through shop-floor briefings, meeting minutes, and liaison activities.
  • Prepare weekly status reports, organize technical data, and assist with technical presentation materials.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in an accredited full-time four-year undergraduate or graduate program in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
  • At least sophomore-level standing or enrollment in a master’s degree program.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship is required.
  • Basic understanding of airframe structures, mechanical design principles, and material properties.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD software, preferably CATIA, and engineering drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, plus proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
