Engineering Intern (Aerospace)

Location: Houston, Texas; on-site. Full-time commitment of 40 hours per week for at least 12 weeks beginning January 2027. Candidates must provide their own relocation and housing.

The Exploration Company develops aerospace technologies for the future of space transportation and crewed vehicles.

What you will do

• Collaborate with engineers to design, develop, test, and improve engineering products, systems, and processes.
• Contribute to real-world engineering projects and deliverables under mentor guidance.
• Develop, test, debug, and document technical solutions, tools, and prototypes.
• Analyze data, identify trends, and provide recommendations for engineering decisions.
• Participate in design reviews, team meetings, technical discussions, testing, validation, and quality assurance activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, reports, and project updates.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• At least three months of relevant engineering experience through internships, co-op programs, or industry projects.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, such as a current Green Card holder, due to ITAR/EAR regulations.
• Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for a minimum of 12 weeks beginning January 2027.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering tools, programming languages, or technical platforms related to the role.

Nice to have

• Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.
• At least six months of relevant engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience from academic projects, student organizations, internships, research, personal projects, or technical hobbies.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
