Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (ACS Systems)

What you will do

• Design and develop attitude control system hardware, including propellant tanks, valves, thrusters, fluid lines, mounts, and integrated assemblies.
• Lead pressure-vessel architecture, detailed design, packaging, sealing strategies, and leak-tightness assessments.
• Perform structural, thermal, fluid, and tolerance analyses for high-pressure systems operating in extreme environments.
• Integrate ACS hardware with propulsion, GNC, avionics, and structures teams.
• Support prototyping, assembly, hardware bring-up, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Define qualification and environmental test plans covering pressure, vibration, thermal, and shock testing, while mentoring junior engineers and making technical trades.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of mechanical design experience in aerospace or high-performance fluid and propulsion systems.
• Strong experience with pressure vessels, fluid systems, high-pressure component integration, tanks, valves, thrusters, or comparable ACS hardware.
• Experience with sealing methods, leak detection, cleanliness requirements, structural and thermal analysis, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Proficiency with CAD and analysis tools such as NX, SolidWorks, ANSYS, or equivalent.
• Access to export-controlled information may require applicable U.S. Government authorization, security clearance, citizenship, or other eligibility requirements.
