Quality Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Manage and continuously improve the quality management system in accordance with AS9100 and applicable standards.
• Maintain document control, conduct gap analyses and risk assessments, and facilitate management reviews.
• Lead internal, external, registrar, customer, regulatory, and supplier audits across company sites.
• Coordinate corrective actions, root-cause analysis, non-conformance tracking, and preventive actions.
• Maintain AS9100 and NADCAP certifications and support additional customer and environmental certifications.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management to embed practical compliance processes and support new site launches.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of aerospace quality, compliance, or audit experience with direct AS9100 experience.
• AS9100 Lead Auditor certification required.
• Demonstrated experience conducting internal and external audits.
• Experience with supplier audits, supplier quality assessments, or NADCAP audit processes is valuable.
• Knowledge of defense contractor requirements including FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and EAR is valuable.
• Strong communication, risk-based thinking, process approach, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• ASQ certification such as CQA, CQE, or CQM.
• NADCAP auditor certification or experience with specialty audits such as welding, NDT, or heat treat.
• Experience implementing quality systems in high-growth manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 13485, DoD, NASA, customer-specific requirements, and quality management software.
