Materials Engineer - Flight Vehicle Support (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Prepare and test adhesive bond specimens according to internal procedures and applicable ASTM standards.
• Perform materials characterization and mechanical testing for flight hardware and thermal protection system development.
• Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports with results and recommendations.
• Create and maintain material specifications, process specifications, test plans, qualification reports, and test procedures.
• Support material failure investigations and root cause analyses.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams on material selection, qualification, and production activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 0–3 years of engineering experience; internships and undergraduate research are considered.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in laboratory and cross-functional engineering environments.
• Access to export-controlled information may require meeting applicable U.S. Government authorization, security clearance, citizenship, or other eligibility requirements.
