Manufacturing Engineer I (Aerospace): Developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for high-reliability, high-volume satellite electronic assemblies with an accent on electronics manufacturing analysis, solder chemistry, defect analysis, and process documentation. Focus on industrializing space products, root-causing nonconformances, managing corrective actions, and coordinating with engineering teams and contract manufacturers.
Location: Austin, TX, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations under space technology export regulations.

What you will do
- Develop, analyze, and optimize manufacturing processes for electronic assemblies used in satellites and aerospace platforms.
- Select solder chemistries, analyze defects, and root-cause manufacturing nonconformances.
- Support manufacturing through on-site production and coordination with contract manufacturers.
- Create and maintain process documentation, acceptance criteria, and nonconformance records.
- Work with manufacturing, engineering, program management, suppliers, and external contract manufacturers to industrialize space products.
- Contribute to supplier reviews, cost analysis, change management, and corrective action systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, with university or internship experience.
- Experience with Design for Manufacturability of electronics hardware.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards.
- Experience with manufacturing processes, change management, nonconformance documentation, root cause analysis, corrective action systems, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience with cost analysis, supplier management, and configuration management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to have
- Statistical process control and lean manufacturing experience.
- Aerospace or other high-reliability industry experience.
- PCBA electronics manufacturing or electronics assembly experience.
- Proficiency with PLM, ERP, AS9100, or ISO9001 quality management systems.
- Experience handling multiple high-priority tasks.
