Composite Technician (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Fabricate composite components using hand layup, resin infusion, prepreg handling, bonding, and finishing techniques.
• Build, modify, and maintain custom molds, fixtures, jigs, and tooling for prototype fabrication and assembly.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, process specifications, and verbal instructions while collaborating with engineers and designers.
• Develop layup methods, cure cycles, vacuum-bagging procedures, and fabrication approaches for new designs.
• Trim, drill, measure, and assemble complex composite parts to tight tolerances using manual and power tools.
• Maintain material and process traceability, identify manufacturability issues, and support continuous improvement during production transition.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on composite fabrication experience, preferably in prototype, marine, or aerospace environments.
• Proficiency with hand layup, prepreg, vacuum bagging, epoxy resins, adhesives, and solvents.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and process specifications.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow safety procedures when working with resins, adhesives, solvents, and manufacturing equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience fabricating or modifying jigs, fixtures, or tooling from metal, wood, or composite materials.
• Familiarity with precision measurement tools, quality inspection processes, and 3D modeling software.
• Experience in fast-paced prototyping and large-scale production environments.
