Manufacturing Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment)

Location: Somerset, New Jersey, United States. Relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $76,000–$97,000 per year, plus a bonus opportunity.

What you will do

• Provide hands-on engineering support for the assembly, integration, and testing of complex semiconductor equipment.
• Partner with technicians and production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing and build issues.
• Investigate quality and manufacturing problems, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective actions.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and production documentation.
• Implement engineering changes and configuration-controlled manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Operations, Service, Supply Chain, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, or a similar role involving complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, assembly, integration, or testing of complex electromechanical products.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
• Knowledge of manufacturing documentation, BOMs, work instructions, ERP systems such as SAP, and engineering change processes.
• Strong troubleshooting, structured problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor capital equipment, vacuum systems, precision automation, photonics, scientific instrumentation, or other highly engineered electromechanical products.
• Familiarity with cleanroom manufacturing environments.
• Experience with root cause analysis methods such as 8D or 5 Why.
