Manufacturing Engineer, Harnessing (Defense Systems)

What you will do

• Define and implement procedures, tooling standards, work instructions, process flows, and validation methods for in-house harness fabrication.
• Develop assembly documentation, BOMs, test plans, fixture specifications, and manufacturing process documentation for prototype and production builds.
• Qualify and support external harness fabrication and test suppliers, including audits, capability studies, and process validations.
• Support design reviews focused on design for manufacturability, design for test, connector selection, harness routing, and production handoff readiness.
• Develop and implement continuity, insulation resistance, high-pot, functional, and environmental test procedures, including test data analysis.
• Improve yield, throughput, defect rates, and cost through Lean and continuous improvement methods.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience focused on wiring harness or cable assembly fabrication and testing.
• Strong knowledge of crimping, routing, strain relief, electrical continuity and functional testing, and assembly best practices.
• Hands-on experience developing manufacturing processes and work instructions for electromechanical hardware.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and meet ITAR eligibility requirements. Access to classified information or restricted U.S. Government sites may require additional security clearance or government authorization.
