TL;DR
Technician 1, Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance (Manufacturing): Maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment in a production environment with an accent on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and equipment reliability. Focus on diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, PLC, and robotics issues, responding to breakdowns, and supporting equipment upgrades during rotating shifts.
Location: Batu Kawan, Central Seberang Perai, Penang, Malaysia; onsite at the Penang SDSM Office

What you will do
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, automation, PLC, and robotic equipment issues.
- Repair or replace faulty components, calibrate equipment, and make operational adjustments.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns, implement corrective actions, and maintain accurate repair records.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with production teams and support equipment upgrades with subject matter experts and engineers.
- Follow manufacturing safety procedures and complete ongoing technical training.
Requirements
- Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or SKM Phase 3, or an equivalent qualification.
- Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical systems and familiarity with basic automation equipment troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform basic checks, routine operations, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting under supervision.
- Basic knowledge of PLCs and robotics.
- Willingness to learn, follow technical instructions, support shift teams, and escalate issues when needed.
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
Nice to have
- Experience with automation equipment such as automated robotic storage systems, automated robotic vehicles, ARV, ARS, or turntables.
- Familiarity with computing and computer systems.
